-This Nashvillian has a growling, bluesy, bruiser delivery. On the title tune to his current CD, he is a working-class moaner with more than a little Southern-rock punch. For some grins, spin "Perfect Ten," wherein he digs a fat chick to a rocking backbeat. "So Wicked" is voodoo swamper. "Boom Chika Wah Wah" and "Good Bad Boy" are irresistibly sexy. Heck, this whole album rawks. I bet these guys are great live. Robert K. Oermann – Music Row Magazine • January 5, 2011
A powerful singer and songwriter of huge talent, Don Ray and his band display a big sound and well articulated performance throughout eleven original songs. I liken it to a frenzied madness, by the inherent musical quality and the amazing professionalism of every musician included on the cd. Along with the impressive bright voice of Don Ray, always superb and firm, with great rage, you should add Curt Ryle on all guitar solos to the mastery. There is also a faultless bright final production that goes together with the very original and personal Don Ray compositions. In short words, a project done with big enthusiasm that will certainly call the attention of all listeners. GREAT.

The Don Ray Band is an all original, Rockin' Americana musical project created by Don Ray and anchored by Musician's Hall Of Fame Guitarist, Will McFarlane. The band's projects involve some of the nation's best songwriters and studio / touring musicians. Their musical collaborations are unique and have proven hard to put a single label on the results... which have been called everything from "Rockin' Blues" to "Southern Rock" to "Blue Eyed Soul" to "Rock N Southern Country Roll" by some of the nations most notable music writers. One thing all of these writers have agreed upon, however, is that the music is refreshingly original and a pleasure to listen to over and over again. The Don Ray Band single "Love Is" featuring Shaun Murphy was submitted to the 2012 Grammy Awards commitee.
The DRB project is lead by singer/songwriter and percussionist Don Ray. Don was first based out of Austin, TX. and now Nashville, TN.
